Mexico
After two years of convulsion, I could well see that the waves of the Islamic revolution were not going to stop at the borders of Iran. But I was not emotionally ready to cover the resurgence of Islam, which was happening right before my eyes. Iran had drained me. I went to Mexico. Up till then, I had been a photojournalist covering events. In Mexico, nothing was happening. I travelled around, photographing the country as if writing a novel, redefining my aesthetics in photography.
