Fonds Abbas Photos
Fonds Abbas Photos has been created to protect, preserve and promote Abbas’s rich photographic oeuvre.
With full access to the photographer’s complete personal archives including original photographic prints, contact sheets, work prints, writings, notebooks, correspondence, contracts, publications, collateral (posters, postcards, brochures, invitation cards), films and videos, Fonds Abbas Photos continues to give a voice to Abbas’s work through ongoing cultural projects.
It is in a unique position to provide the context of his work through documents that retrace the history of a photograph, from its creation to its publication and preservation. While giving support to Magnum Photos which continues to manage the distribution of Abbas’s archival images.

Living Legacy
To keep Abbas’s artistic heritage alive by continually sharing them with the general public through exhibitions, loans and institutional partnerships.

To convey the historical value of the archives through conferences, multimedia content and educational, participatory presentations and programmes.
Conservation and Research
To provide a link between the collection and researchers, making the collection accessible and open for new interpretations, while stimulating original approaches to photography.
